Prontier bot: Terms of Service
The rules for using Prontier, the Hunsterverse Discord bot. Plain and short.
Who runs it
Prontier is the Discord bot of Hunsterverse, a free, fan-run Monster Hunter Frontier Z private server community. It is run by the Hunsterverse staff as a hobby, not as a business, and costs you nothing. By adding it to a server or using its commands, buttons or posts you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.
Contact: ask a staff member on our Discord, or send a report for a problem with the bot. For anything private, send a staff member a direct message instead of a report (reports go to our task board). How the bot handles your data is on the privacy page.
What the bot does
The bot only works in the Hunsterverse Discord servers (and in a direct message with the bot, for people who are in one of them). It refuses commands from any other server. It does not read your ordinary messages in channels: it only answers its own slash commands and buttons.
- Account:
/linkand/unlinkconnect or disconnect your Discord account and your game account;/passwordsets a new game password. - Characters:
/backupsends you a zip of one of your characters in a direct message;/importputs a backup file into one of your characters after you confirm a preview. - Information:
/worldsshows the worlds and who is online;/whoisshows a member's game accounts and characters;/guideand/playshow how to start playing. - Road parties:
/roadpartyopens a party that up to four linked hunters can join with a button; joining switches your account's Hunting Road to the party's. - Staff:
/broadcastposts a staff announcement (it can ping linked players who are online) and/configreloads the bot's settings. Only server admins can use them. - Posts: the bot posts event and Hunting Road vote announcements in a channel of the server, without mentioning anyone, and shows the number of hunters online as its status.
- Website: for linked players who are online, it sends their Discord display name to the website, which shows it next to the character on the Worlds page.
Some command replies are public in the channel (/worlds, /whois, /guide, and the Road party post); the others are visible only to you. The bot sends no other direct messages than the backup zip you asked for.
Acceptable use
- Follow the Hunsterverse Discord rules, Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
- Use the bot only for your own account and characters. Don't link, back up, import into or change someone else's account.
- Don't try to break the bot, the website or the game server, to get around a limit (cooldowns, role and channel limits, the server-only rule) or to reach data that isn't yours.
- Don't spam commands or buttons, and don't use the bot to harass anyone.
- Don't import files you don't have the right to use, or files meant to damage the server.
No warranty
The bot is provided "as is", free and run by volunteers. It can be slow, wrong or offline, and we don't promise that it will work, be available, or keep your characters, backups or settings safe. Make your own backups of anything you care about. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses caused by using the bot or by it not working, including a bad import or a lost password change.
Changes, stopping and termination
We can change what the bot does, remove a command, or stop the bot for good, at any time and without notice. We can also refuse to serve you, unlink your account, or take away your access to the bot if you break these terms or cause trouble, and we can ban you from the Discord server. You can stop using the bot at any time: run /unlink, and ask a staff member to delete your data (see the privacy page).
Not affiliated with Capcom or Discord
Hunsterverse and Prontier are fan projects. They are not made, endorsed or sponsored by Capcom or by Discord. Monster Hunter and Monster Hunter Frontier are trademarks of Capcom; Discord is a trademark of Discord Inc.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. When we do, the effective date at the top changes, and bigger changes are announced on Discord. If you keep using the bot after a change, you accept the new terms.
